How to take care of your new tattoo Leave the second skin on for 3 days (you can shower with it, no problem). While your tattoo is healing, avoid direct sunlight. Your tattoo might appear blurry underneath the second skin; don't worry, it's because the wound water and ink are mixing. You will have a nice, clean tattoo after you remove the second skin. After 3 days, take off the second skin; it works best with lukewarm water (while showering). Wash the tattoo gently, let it ai
